Haukadalur Geyser Field Temperature Indicator

Haukadalur Geyser Field Temperature Indicator

Haukadalur is a geothermal area comprising in excess of 40 mud pots, hot springs and geysers. It's noted for the world famous Gran-Geysir, the oldest geyser in the world, and for me, the more impressive Strokkur Geyser.

Haukadalur is located near Flúðir in Hrunamannahreppur municipality, South Iceland (just over the road from the superb Secret Lagoon).

Close to the entrance is this hot spring thermal indicator, which looks like a chimney. They are measuring hot spring temperatures here of 80 - 100 degrees C.
